Just One More Injustice in a Long Line of Progressive Injustices

Small Portland, OR. Bakery gets Fined $135K for Not Baking a Cake!

That’s What Liberals Call Justice in Oregon.

Aaron and Melissa Klein

Aaron and Melissa Klein, the owners of a small mom and pop bakery in Portland, Oregon were fined $135,000 yesterday for refusing to bake a cake for a gay “wedding ceremony”. The judgment came approximately two years after a woman and her daughter walked into their former Portland area store, Sweet Cakes by Melissa and wanted to order a cake with all of the appropriate decorations on it for what they called a “wedding”.

When it became apparent that to decorate the cake in the way that the customers wanted would make a mockery of the Klein’s own religious beliefs and violate their First Amendment right they respectfully declined to accept the order or take the customer’s money. It was that decision not to furnish a cake for the couple’s so called “wedding ceremony” that was the basis for this lawsuit. Yesterday a liberal administrative law judge from Eugene, Oregon by the name of Alan McCullough ordered the Kleins to pay emotional damages to Laurel and Rachel Bowman-Cryer in the amount of $135,000 for a cake that was worth approximately $135. The Kleins are Christians and this is what Democrats like Judge Alan McCullough in the State of Oregon call justice.  It seems that Christians are not only second class status in the Muslim world.. We are also second class citizens right here in our own world.

Upon learning of this recent court ruling I was in a complete state of shock and utter disbelief that so grievous an injustice could be perpetrated on the Klein family, but upon further reflection on this absurd legal decision I realized that it is something we Christians have come to expect from the homosexual fascists and the lesbian Nazis as well as the progressive Democrats that dominate the media and the headlines in Oregon.

Portland and Eugene have become the home of everything that is perverse and twisted in our state. Legal decisions like the one just handed down by Judge Alan McCullough is what we have come to expect from a horde of activist judges who have been appointed by Democrat politicians during the last twenty years. These activist judges have made some of the most preposterous legal decisions in order to pursue their progressive agenda. The decision against the Kleins can be overturned by the State Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian, but what are the chances of that ever happening? He is a Democrat too. Maybe if the Kleins would get down on their knees and pray to Baal then Commissioner Avakian would look more kindly on them.

This particular decision against the Klein family in the amount of $135,000 is a violation of their First Amendment Right to freedom of religion. It also violates the Eighth Amendment which prohibits cruel and unusual punishment and the imposition of excessive fines, but this is what happens when you turn over the reins of state government to progressive Democrats who have created in the past twenty years the ideal conditions for such regressive and repressive interpretations of the law to thrive.

I can think of many different ways that the two parties to his insignificant little dispute over a cake could have amicably resolved their differences and parted company without ever going to court, but of course this lawsuit was never about justice.  It was about instilling fear into the hearts of every God fearing Christian in the State of Oregon.

This is America. Every customer has a right to shop wherever they want. They also have a right to refuse to patronize any particular business they don’t like. By the same token shouldn’t every business owner have exactly the same right to refuse to provide a product or service to someone that they don’t like? Why should a private business be compelled by the government to provide something that violates their religious beliefs? I’m sorry but this has gone way too far! Its time to put an end to it.
