John Kasich

The Republican Party I Know

By Scott Rohter, March 2016

In a speech after his long awaited victory in Ohio, Governor John Kasich said that he was not going to take the low road to the highest office in the land. So then what do you call what he is trying to do? He has absolutely no chance of winning enough delegates to be the Republican nominee for President. He has only succeeded in winning one State, his own… after thirty five primaries. The only reason he is still in the race is to prevent Donald Trump from winning the nomination on the first ballot, and just to show you what kind of an Establishment lying politician and big bully Governor Kasich really is let’s go over the math…

After thirty five State primaries and caucuses John Kasich has even less delegates than Marco Rubio has. Senator Rubio just dropped out of the race… Marco Rubio has 169  delegates and John Kasich has only 142 delegates. There is no way in Hell that John Kasich can amass enough delegates before the Convention to win the Republican nomination. So then why is he staying in the race?… I’ll tell you.

The whole purpose of his campaign is to stop Donald Trump… John Kasich is supported in this endeavor by Jeb Bush and the rest of the GOP political Establishment.  John Kasich has been a politican his entire life.. For over thirty years he has been a part of the Washington Political Establishment whether he has been working inside of the Beltway or inside of the Governor’s mansion in Columbus Ohio. John Kasich is not Ronald Reagan.. He has never been like Ronald Reagan no matter how many times he mentions Ronald Reagan’s name. John Kasich is a liberal, progressive Republican and he has never been an outsider like Ronald Reagan was. John Kasich is a Washington insider. He is also a war hawk who will start World War III with Russia if he ever gets anywhere near the White House.  This is In stark contrast to Ronald Reagan who was a peacemaker that ended the Cold War with the Soviet Union.

The very first question that the moderators asked Donald Trump at the first Republican Presidential Debate was whether he would agree to accept the results of the Primary and not run as a third Party candidate if he was not chosen to be the Republican Party nominee for President. Now with Trump solidly in the lead after more than thirty State primaries it appears that the same question needs to be asked of the GOP itself.. Will it rally behind Donald Trump if he is the clear and undisputed leader going into the Convention. Their answer seems to be no. Recently influential establishment Republicans met and vowed to do everything in their power to sabotage Donald Trump’s chances of getting the nomination.

John Kasich is a member of the Republican Establishment. He hopes to steal the nomination away from Donald Trump at a brokered convention… Everyone in the media has started using a new phrase to describe the Convention process when one candidate doesn’t get enough delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot.. They don’t want to use the phrase, a ” brokered convention” anymore. Since delegates are only bound to a particular candidate during the first round of voting, when the second round of voting begins there are a lot of deals that get made.  They prefer to call this process a “contested convention” instead of a brokered convention… Did you notice how quickly that phrase caught on in the media?  The Establishment is trying to control the language and thus frame the debate so it is in their favor. A contested convention sounds a whole lot better than brokered convention doesn’t it?  However a rose by any other name smells just as sweet… and there is nothing sweet about what John Kasich or the GOP Establishment is trying to do. John Kasich thinks he can parlay the strategic importance of Ohio in the General Election into a roadblock that prevents Donald Trump from getting the Republican nomination for President. That sounds to me like the Republican Party I know.
