Russia: Friend or Foe ? The Russian Conundrum

Posted by Scott Rohter on Thursday, November 28, 2019

For over a thousand years Russia has looked to the West to Europe for innovation and inspiration, for advances in science and technology. French and Italian architects designed and constructed many of its most famous buildings including its lavish palaces, the residences of the Tsars, as well as its iconic churches, and museums. German and Dutch scientists and engineers explored its vast interior in search of valuable natural resources

Remembering a Great American President and Statesman

Posted by Scott Rohter on Friday, February 23, 2018

A wise man once remarked that a great nation and small minds don’t go well together. That man was Edmund Burke. He was a famous statesman and Member of Parliament during the 18th Century when England was at the height of its worldwide influence and power. Burke lived at a time when it could truly be said that the sun never set on the British Empire, and this observation he made is just as relevant today in our own country as it was back in England during the 18th Century…mal

A Pathway to “Citizenshit” for Illegal Aliens

Posted by Scott Rohter on Saturday, January 13, 2018

Here it comes again, and its heading straight for a community near you… the mother of all betrayals… a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens or as I call it “a crapway to citizenshit”, but whatever you want to call it, this train is on the fast track and it is leaving the station soon. On board are all of the illegal aliens living in the United States of America contrary to our laws, all because of all the Washington politicians who want to provide them with amnesty and permanent legal status…

Arab Spring – World Nightmare

Posted by Scott Rohter on Tuesday, January 9, 2018

One of the unfortunate results of the “Arab Spring” is that France, Russia, and the United States have all spent billions of dollars dropping thousands of bombs on the Middle East in a frantic effort to destroy ISIS. America began unloading its deadly “arsenal of democracy” from helicopters and fixed wing aircraft starting all the way back in 2013…

A Travel Ban that Isn’t

A legal decision does not have to be correct. It doesn’t even have to make sense. Sometimes it is only one man’s opinion, and there are just as many different opinions in the world as there are different people. If you file a claim in a State where the majority of voters happen to agree with you then you are probably going to wind up with a legal opinion you like…

From Détente with the Soviet Union under Reagan and Gorbachev to Open Confrontation with Russia over Ukraine and Syria – Washington’s Russia Policy under Donald Trump is the same as it was under Barack Obama.

Someone has coined a term to describe Washington’s bellicose foreign policy attitude towards Russia. Ever since World War II and increasingly under the last four American Presidents, the United States has looked upon Russia with an equal measure of fear and disdain. The word that best describes Washington’s attitude is “triumphalism”…

Americans are being asked once again to believe that Syrian President Bashar al Assad is using chemical weapons against “his own people”. Why John McCain is Determined to Destroy the Legacy of America’s 40th President

Posted by Scott Rohter on Tuesday, December 27, 2016

It all goes back to something that President Dwight Eisenhower mentioned in his Farewell Address to the Nation. He warned us about the dangers of the “Military Industrial Complex”. Eisenhower used this phrase to describe the dangers posed by our industrial and manufacturing sectors as a result of the massive military buildup we had just gone through in order to defeat NAZI Germany and Japan during World War II. John McCain is an old cold war veteran whose political views were shaped in an era of confrontation between nuclear superpowers. Everything is black and white to him. He sees everything in terms of good and evil. America is good and Russia is evil. That’s how he sees the world. That’s how he will always see the world…

In case you don’t remember there has been more than one trial involving the Bundy family that grabbed the Nation’s attention. A previous trial involved the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Oregon in December of 2015. That trial was about the occupation of the Wildlife Refuge which lasted for 41 days and resulted in one death and at least fourteen persons charged with conspiracy. Most of the defendants in that trial including Ammon and Ryan Bundy were acquitted of all charges.. There is however another trial going on which the media never talks about. British Vote to leave the E.U. is Good News for Europeans, but Bad News for the Architects of the New World Order

The British vote to leave the European Union is good news for Europeans, and it is good news for Americans too. It was not a vote against the European Union as much as it was a vote in favor of retaining British national sovereignty. It was the acknowledgement that the people of the U.K. want to be governed by their own elected leaders rather than by the faceless bureaucrats of the European Union or by the un-elected members of the European Parliament. It proves that the British people do not want to surrender their independence and that people everywhere want more control over their lives, not less control…

One Hundred Years from Teddy Roosevelt to Barack Obama

For over a decade we have been trying to bomb the Middle East into democracy, but it hasn’t worked out very well. It didn’t work too well in Libya and it certainly didn’t work out very well in Iraq. Hopefully Afghanistan will turn out to be another story, but now we are starting to bomb Syria and Iraq all over again. It is Shock and Awe revisited. My only question is this… Are we really convincing Muslims in the Middle East and around the world to love democracy or to hate the democracy that enables us to do this to them?

It all started with a little lie, but that was so long ago that it really doesn’t matter… or does it? What matters of course in Ukraine today is that the residents of Crimea just held a public referendum on the question of whether or not they want to become a part of Russia again after a popular uprising in Kiev overthrew their democratically elected government and left most Crimeans feeling like they were out in the cold. What is the connection between the popular Orange Revolution in Ukraine and the fracking revolution right here in America? Well the result of the referendum in Crimea was that about ninety five percent of the people who cast their ballots in the hastily called special election said that they want Crimea to become a part of Russia again. Of course that doesn’t seem to matter to the people of Ukraine, nor to the European Union, nor to the United States of America which only wants to capitalize on the political turmoil and seize the opportunity to export American natural gas derived from fracking to Europe in order to increase demand and drive up prices here at home…

This comes only after they were repeatedly asked over the past month to disband, and told to return these parts of the city to normal civilian control.
