America’s “Funding Fathers” By Scott Rohter, January 2020     You have heard of the Founding Fathers.  You probably learned about them in your 8th grade history class, but if you are like most Americans you probably didn’t learn much about them… maybe a little bit about the Boston Tea Party, something […]

Putting America First

Posted by Scott Rohter on Tuesday, December 10, 2019

America has experienced a lot of firsts lately… We have elected our first Black President. We have our first female Speaker of the House. We have chosen the first non-politician in our Nation’s history, the first non-Deep State actor to be our country’s leader, and now we have the first impeachment of a President for non-high crimes and misdemeanors…

America’s Time of Troubles

Posted by Scott Rohter on Friday, December 6, 2019

There is something going on in America that is very disturbing, yet not many people are talking about it. Most people don’t want to talk about it or they can’t really talk about it because it is such a hard subject to discuss, but I can talk about it and that is exactly what I intend to do, although I do so reluctantly. What I am referring to has been going on right under our noses. At the same time it is going on almost totally under the radar because it is not being reported by any of the mainstream media…

Russia: Friend or Foe ? The Russian Conundrum

For over a thousand years Russia has looked to the West to Europe for innovation and inspiration, for advances in science and technology. German and Dutch scientists and engineers explored its vast interior in search of valuable natural resources

All Quid Pro Quos are not the Same

Posted by Scott Rohter on Monday, November 11, 2019

All quid pro quos are not the same. Some seek to accomplish good, while others merely to accommodate evil. That is precisely why quid pro quos should be judged each on its own merits. Some are  well-intentioned  just like the people who make them while others are basically bad like the people who make them. There are about as many different kinds of quid pro quos as there are people and the different reasons that motivate them.  In other words… good people make good quid pro quos, and bad people make bad quid pro qous. It’s that simple.

Property Rights Essential if Americans are to Remain Free

Posted by Scott Rohter on Monday, October 22, 2018

Property rights are one of the most important freedoms we enjoy as Americans. Enshrined in the Bill of Rights, the first major piece of legislation that Congress ever passed back in 1789, property rights are just as important today as they were back then. Without respect for private property freedom doesn’t exist. It wouldn’t have any meaning, and the protection of the right to own property is essential if we are to remain free…

Remembering a Great American President and Statesman

Posted by Scott Rohter on Friday, February 23, 2018

A wise man once remarked that a great nation and small minds don’t go well together. That man was Edmund Burke. He was a famous statesman and Member of Parliament during the 18th Century when England was at the height of its worldwide influence and power. Burke lived at a time when it could truly be said that the sun never set on the British Empire, and this observation he made is just as relevant today in our own country as it was back in England during the 18th Century…mal

Images of Government Abuse

There are no cameras permitted in the courtroom. All cell phones are confiscated before you are allowed to pass through the doors. There is only an artist’s sketchbook or a writer’s pen to record the events.

Watching Oregon go up in Smoke

Posted by Scott Rohter on Tuesday, August 29, 2017

Every year between the months of July and November millions of Oregonians watch helplessly as the United States government just allows the our state to go up in smoke. My grandmother use to have a saying… Too much of anything is not good. Maybe the federal government owns too much land and they take it for granted or maybe they just plain don’t care, but our shortsighted and dysfunctional State legislature and a series of incompetent Democratic governors in Salem refuse to take the necessary steps that could put an end to this annual destruction of our State’s forests once and for all and protect what is left of Oregon’s precious natural resources…

It is true that he did appoint Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court to replace Justice Scalia who will be sorely missed, and his appointment has been confirmed by the United States Senate in spite of the fact that not a single Democrat voted for him, but that had a lot more to do with Mitch McConnell then it did with Donald Trump…

Why John McCain is Determined to Destroy the Legacy of America’s 40th President

Eisenhower used this phrase to describe the dangers posed by our industrial and manufacturing sectors as a result of the massive military buildup we had just gone through in order to defeat NAZI Germany and Japan during World War II. John McCain is an old cold war veteran whose political views were shaped in an era of confrontation between nuclear superpowers. Everything is black and white to him. He sees everything in terms of good and evil. America is good and Russia is evil. That’s how he sees the world. That’s how he will always see the world…

Posted by Scott Rohter on Saturday, March 19, 2016

This week Donald Trump warned the RNC about the consequences of ignoring the will of millions of Republican voters. After thirty-two State Primaries and caucuses Mr. Trump is by far and away the clear leader both in terms of actual delegates and in terms of States won. Mr. Trump has won nineteen States while Ted Cruz has only won seven and John Kasich has only won his home State of Ohio…

Posted by Scott Rohter on Wednesday, March 16, 2016

In a speech yesterday after his expected victory in Ohio, John Kasich said that he was not going to take the low road to win the highest office in the land…. Oh really? Then what do you call what he is trying to do? He has absolutely no chance of getting enough delegates to win the nomination. He is just trying to prevent Donald Trump from winning the nomination, and just to show you what kind of a lying politician and a big bully that Governor Kasich really is let’s go over the math…

Immigration: Enough is Enough Already !

Posted by Scott Rohter on Monday, March 14, 2016

Forty eight years of progressive policies has nearly destroyed our country. It has bankrupted our Republic and fractured our society. First there were 16 years of Bill Clinton that left us disillusioned. Then there were 16 more years of George Bush which didn’t help any, and finally there are the last 16 years of Barack Obama… which has left us totally discouraged. During this time America has taken in over 50 million new immigrants. Many of them are illegal immigrants. This has led to all of the anger and frustration that we feel…

Many Americans were outraged at the sight of an innocent man being shot in the back by the police while his hands up in the air. Joint State-Federal Plan to Remove Four Dams on Klamath River Approved… The War on America’s Ranchers and Farmers Continues.

Posted by Scott Rohter on Monday, February 8, 2016

Not only is the Federal Government waging a procrastinated war on America’s ranchers. Dwight and Steven Hammond, Cliven, Carol, Ammon, and Ryan Bundy, and Jeanette Finicum can all testify to that. Her late husband Robert LaVoy Finicum was recently shot dead in Oregon for objecting to the government’s unconstitutional land use polices. The Feds are not just waging a war on ranchers. They are also waging a war of attrition against farmers in the West… With the help of the Nation’s first LGBT Governor Kate Brown and the entire Oregon Congressional delegation which consists of five Democrats and one RINO Republican, the final steps have been taken to remove four operating dams on the Klamath River…

All the bounty of God’s blessings and all riches and wealth comes from the land, and about half of the land in the western United States is owned by the Federal Government. To be exact forty-nine percent of the land in twelve western States including Alaska, but not counting Hawaii is owned by the United States Government. The actual percentage of land owned by the Feds varies in each State from a high of about 94% in Nevada…

Is Ted Cruz the Republican Party’s Answer to Barack Obama?

Posted by Scott Rohter on Saturday, January 9, 2016

Is Ted Cruz is the Republican Party’s answer to Barack Obama? I hope not. They are both ineligible to be President and two wrongs don’t make a right. One is President and the other wants to be President, but wanting to be and going to be are two different things and it doesn’t depend on what the definition of is…is. It depends on a proper understanding of what it means to be a Natural Born American Citizen according to Article 2 Section 1 of the United States Constitution…

Was Burns, Oregon the Right Place and the Right Time to Challenge the Federal Government’s Ownership of Public Lands and its Land-Use Policies in the West ?

Posted by Scott Rohter on Tuesday, January 5, 2016

Normally peaceful Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns Oregon became the scene of a heated standoff between ranchers and property rights advocates on the one hand and federal law enforcement officials and the Bureau of Land Management on the other hand. At the center of this conflict is a seventy-three year old Oregon Rancher named Dwight Hammond and his forty-six year old son Steven who were recently resentenced to serve five more years in a Federal Penitentiary on trumped up charges of arson…

ISIS isn’t the Crisis – The Problem with Islam is the Quran

Posted by Scott Rohter on Saturday, December 26, 2015

Forget about what you have been told. Islam is not a peaceful religion as its apologists would have you believe. In fact with few notable exceptions the Muslim world has never known prolonged periods of peace. Whenever Arabs are in control of the Uma there is usually war. There are supposed to be five pillars of Islam, but in reality there are only two, the sword and the Quran…

He says all the right things the junior Senator from Texas does, but he wasn’t born in the United States. He was born in Alberta, Canada. The Constitution says that you have to be born in the United States to be the President of the United States. It’s only common sense isn’t it?

Allowing Muslims to come to America is like inviting the wolf into the hen house. If you think that Islam is just a religion you are wrong. It is far more than a religion. It is a complete way of life with a parallel system of law which is fundamentally at odds with our Constitution…

Can Government Eradicate Poverty? Bernie Thinks it can.

Posted by Scott Rohter on Sunday, November 22, 2015

Why does Bernie Sanders’ campaign appeal to hard core leftists? The world isn’t a fair place. That’s obvious, but can government eradicate poverty? Well Bernie Sanders thinks it can and apparently he thinks it should, and all of the people who support him in 2016 apparently think he will once he is elected President.

Posted by Scott Rohter on Thursday, October 29, 2015

The third Republican debate was supposed to be about policy…. economic policy to be specific. That was the theme selected by the Republican National Committee to try to make Jeb Bush look good and the questions were intended to showcase the professional politicians in the race seeking the Republican Presidential nomination at the expense of the non-politicians.. The plan was to knock out the front runners in the race…. Donald Trump and Ben Carson who enjoy an overwhelming lead in all the polls over the professional politicians in the race…

Hillary Skates through Benghazi Hearings while GOP Establishment goes after the House Freedom Caucus

Posted by Scott Rohter on Tuesday, October 20, 2015

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the determined members of the House Republican Freedom Caucus who actually still know how to fight for principles. They are using fire to fight fire… the same type of fire that the Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader routinely use to commandeer the votes they need to pass President Obama’s legislative agenda and punish other members of Congress who don’t vote the way the way they want them to vote…
