Transparency - The Way Barack Obama Sees it.

The United States government is accused of violating international law and treaties by using drones to bomb civilian areas of Pakistan and Yemen where terrorists have been found. That’s what two international organizations have recently determined. Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have both made the same allegations against the United States, and that is exactly what Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan just told Barack Obama on a recent state visit to Washington D.C. He told President Obama that Pakistan objects to American drone strikes on its sovereign territory. He also wants to see more transparency coming from the Obama Administration in its approach to combating terrorism… So would a lot of other people too. But one of those drone strikes just killed a high level target, Hakimullah Mehsud. He was the leader of the Pakistani Taliban who claimed responsibility for multiple terrorist attacks on American citizens. So don’t look for those targeted drone attacks to stop any time soon, and don’t look for any more transparency coming from the Obama Administration any time soon either.

A lot of other people would like to see more transparency from the Obama Administration too including Barack Obama’s own Solicitor General, Donald Verrilli as he argued recently before the United States Supreme Court pertaining to the FISA Act. FISA stands for the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act, and Donald Verrilli believes that the United States government should be more open and forthcoming about how it obtains the information it uses to prosecute terrorists under this law.

Barack Obama did of course promise the American people the most transparent Administration in U.S. history. I don’t know if he made the same promise to the Pakistanis or to the terrorists based in Yemen, but apparently whatever he promised, it all depends on what the definition of transparency is. We used to have a Democrat President who claimed that everything depended on what the definition of is, was. That was President Bill Clinton or old B.J. for short, for all of you with short memories. But apparently to Barack Obama transparency means invisibility. That’s when things become so clear that you can’t even see them anymore. They become so clear that they become invisible. So while I can still see things pretty clearly let me tell you what I see going on in Washington...

The terrorists in Pakistan and Yemen didn’t see those military drones coming to attack them, not even at the last minute just before they dropped their bombs. Neither did the innocent civilians (if indeed there were any) that were there. They were considered collateral damage by the Obama Administration in the twelve year old War on Terror. Both the drones and the innocent civilians were clearly invisible to Barack Obama. He didn’t see them and he didn’t care about them either. They didn’t exist as far as he was concerned. Actually he has acknowledged the use of military drones, but he thinks that it is an appropriate use of technology to fight terrorism in other countries without actually declaring war on them or obtaining their permission to go after the terrorists on their soil. But not so says the World Court and world-wide public opinion.

Back here at home we can’t see any real transparency in the way that the Obama Administration operates either. This is because transparent clearly means invisible to Barack Obama. It means invisible when it comes to his policies here at home too. We don’t see the Federal Government following the Constitution anymore because for all practical purposes our Constitution is missing from the day to day government operations. It is clearly being ignored by the Obama Administration. Compliance with our Constitution is virtually non-existant in Washington these days. It has clearly been missing from our Nation’s law enforcement policies along the border. And it was missing while Operation Fast and Furious was going on when the Obama Administration was selling high powered machine guns to Mexican drug cartels which resulted in the loss of America lives.

Transparency was clearly missing from all aspects of the Affordable Care Act aka Obama Care, but the real truth is that Obama doesn't care. He doesn't care about you and he doesn't care about the Constitution. This un-constitutional law should really be called Obama doesn’t Care. Transparency was clearly missing from the way that the new law was passed on Christmas Eve before we could find out what was really in the Bill. Transparency was missing from the process by which what was referred to in the Bill as a penalty for not buying health insurance was later re-defined by the Supreme Court as a tax, just in order for the new law to pass the non-existant constitutional taste test.

There is no honesty at all coming from the Obama Administration wherever you look. There was no honesty in his explanation for the events that occurred at Benghazi, and there was no honesty in the Obama Administration's explanation concerning the capture of Osama bin Laden. The story of how Osama bin Laden was captured changed several times in the first few hours after he was apprehended and killed, and his body was disposed of at sea. Honesty was clearly lacking in discussing the details surrounding his death, or at least it was invisible to the naked eye. In other words it was transparent.

Currently there is no effective political opposition Party in Washington D.C. with leaders like John Boehner and Mitch McConnell orchestrating the Rebublican strategy. If an actual opposition Party does exist, then it must be neatly concealed because it is nearly impossible to see it at work. It is like watching Mitch Miller (not Mitch McConnell) leading his big band, and playing an obvious song and dance routine on the American people. Any meaningful opposition to Barack Obama’s clearly un-constitutional authority to bomb another country without a Congressional Declaration of War such as when he did that in Libya, and as he is still doing in Pakistan today is hidden from the eye just like his real birth certificate has been hidden until now. Hidden means invisible to anyone who wants to know the truth, which is about the same thing to Barack Obama as transparent, just like the military’s use of drones in Pakistan.

When it comes to complying with the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act I am going to try to be invisible too. I am going to try to be just as transparent as Barack Obama is. I am not going to participate in those on line health insurance exchanges run by the Federal government and I will not comply with this unconstitutional law. I will purchase a health insurance policy if and when I decide that I want one and not when the Federal Government tells me to get one. I will endeavor to make my clearly visible intentions of not paying the fine, or the tax, or whatever the heck they decide to call it next just as visible as Barack Obama’s transparency is.. I think Justice Antonin said it best when he quipped in a television interview that, “A penalty is not a pig.” It is clearly not a tax either John Roberts.
