Just Pass the Bull

The Republicans in Congress under the feckless leadership of John Boehner just tightened the noose around our necks again. After the first vote was taken on the Budget Control Act of 2011 in the House of Representatives in which not a single Democrat voted in favor of the Bill because it didn’t contain any tax increases, it was then given a Senate Bill number, SB 627 and it was sent to the Senate where it was rewritten by a prior arrangement worked out between John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and Harry Reid.  Then without a vote in the Senate the revised Bill was sent back to the House for a second roll call vote where it was passed by a large bipartisan majority of 269 to 161. Ninety five Democrats voted in favor of the Bill this time around along with one hundred and seventy four Republican members of the House.

Another ninety five Democrats whose votes were not needed in order to pass the Bill were allowed to vote no on the Budget Control Act of 2011 because it didn't contain any tax hikes and forty four Republicans whose votes were also not needed to pass the bull were allowed to vote no on the increase in the Federal Debt Ceiling in order to save their Congressional seats in the next election. These annual hikes in the Federal Debt Ceiling are the lasting legacy of John Boehner as the Speaker of the House and it's about time that he resigned. Nevertheless if we just get Kevin McCarthy to step up and fill his smelly shoes we have gained absolutely nothing from John Boehner's resignation. We need a real conservative as Speaker of the House to step up so he can assist our next President in undoing all of the damage done to our country and to our republic in the last eight years... The next member of the Republican leadership to resign should be Mitch McConnell.
