Climate Change Hysteria Keeps Getting Worse <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n But\u00a0the Causes of\u00a0Potential Global Warming still <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>Remain Uncertain… <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n By Scott Rohter, September 2012, Updated December 2014<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “Climate change hysteria is changing the way we look at\u00a0our world, <\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n but the causes of potential global warming if it even exists are still uncertain and proven.”<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0 – Scott Rohter<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Science writer Michael Lemonick in his new book entitled \u201cGlobal Weirdness\u201d<\/em> compares climate change to lung cancer. He claims that the political brainwashing\u00a0we are\u00a0subjected to\u00a0by journalists in the media\u00a0and the\u00a0browbeating we are receiving from a\u00a0small but vociferous\u00a0group of politicians and political\u00a0activists\u00a0in the scientific community\u00a0<\/span>is actually\u00a0for our own good. It is just like the Surgeon General’s warning on the back of a package of cigarettes.\u00a0Mr. Lemonick\u00a0suggests\u00a0that we\u00a0all better pay attention to the proponents of anthropogenic global warming aka so called climate change before it is too late.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Pseudo scientists<\/em>\u00a0like Mr. Lemonick are hell-bent on trying to get the whole world\u00a0to\u00a0go along with\u00a0some kind of a cap and trade system to limit carbon\u00a0 dioxide emissions. Selling carbon credits will no doubt make many climate alarmists\u00a0rich, but it will not change\u00a0a single\u00a0thing about the earth’s actual climate. There is no genuine scientific consensus about whether there really is, or is not an increase in\u00a0average global temperature. There is much that still remains to be known.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Even if there is\u00a0a slight, but noticeable increase in the\u00a0annual average temperature of\u00a0the\u00a0earth there is absolutely no scientific evidence that it is caused\u00a0by human activity. The truth is that there is a lot of stuff that\u00a0scientists don’t know yet.\u00a0They don\u2019t\u00a0know whether the curious phenomena\u00a0 they are witnessing is the result of human activity or if it is the result of solar activity. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n There is no consensus\u00a0about whether or not the phenomena\u00a0that scientists\u00a0are witnessing is\u00a0anthropogenic\u00a0or whether it is the result of something much bigger we have no control over.\u00a0\u00a0The Sun which powers our solar system doesn\u2019t\u00a0have a thermostat, but the progressive\u00a0 environmental movement is in such a mad rush to\u00a0convince\u00a0everyone\u00a0of the idea of man-made global warming\u00a0and that\u00a0we can actually do something about it that they are all giving up any pretense of scientific objectivity. There\u00a0is\u00a0no doubt\u00a0that\u00a0many of them\u00a0are trying to cash in on\u00a0their\u00a0investments in companies\u00a0which\u00a0sell carbon credits. Perhaps that is why they\u00a0are trying\u00a0so hard\u00a0to sell us on the\u00a0idea of global warming\u00a0so that they can\u00a0line their own pockets with green! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n This\u00a0is what anyone with common sense knows: There is a world-wide\u00a0political effort going on to force the developed nations of the world to subsidize\u00a0the developing nations of the world through\u00a0transfer of wealth payments\u00a0which are derived from carbon taxes and carbon trading schemes. <\/em><\/strong>This\u00a0is far more apparent than any conclusions about whether the earth is\u00a0actually warming or not,\u00a0and if so\u00a0what is\u00a0really causing it. The Indonesian volcano Krakatoa spewed\u00a0 more carbon into the Earth\u2019s atmosphere in a single momentous event than all of the cars that have ever rolled off the assembly lines of Henry Ford and Karl Benz combined! That puts things in perspective, but the greenies don’t like to acknowledge that inconvenient fact.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Mr. Lemonick\u00a0states in his new book that it took a long time for the Surgeon General\u2019s Warning\u00a0about the health hazards of\u00a0cigarette smoking\u00a0 to sink into the public consciousness. It\u00a0would be\u00a0reasonable to assume he writes that it will also take a while for the risks\u00a0related to\u00a0global warming to be taken seriously too.\u00a0 That is a pretty\u00a0crazy comparison.\u00a0This far fetched analogy\u00a0in his book Global Weirdness<\/em> is\u00a0like mixing apples and oranges.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The Surgeon General’s Warning on a package of cigarettes was\u00a0referring to\u00a0the health hazards\u00a0associated with directly\u00a0inhaling cigarette smoke\u00a0which is laced with tar and nicotine, and other carcinogenic chemicals\u00a0into\u00a0our lungs. It wasn\u2019t referring to inhaling\u00a0carbon dioxide from\u00a0the earth’s <\/span><\/span>atmosphere or putting\u00a0additional carbon dioxide\u00a0into the\u00a0atmosphere. The earth\u2019s atmosphere doesn\u2019t behave like a healthy pair of human lungs. The earth\u2019s atmosphere actually likes<\/span> carbon dioxide.\u00a0 Our lungs\u00a0 produce\u00a0carbon dioxide. Plants love\u00a0carbon dioxide. They make oxygen from carbon dioxide,\u00a0and the atmosphere absorbs the remainder of it. Without carbon dioxide there wouldn’t be any oxygen for humans and animals to breathe.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Global warming or whatever else the politicians prefer to call it at the moment is not caused by the amount of heavy metals, tar, and nicotine in the earth’s atmosphere. That is not\u00a0the main concern of climate scientists. They are concerned about\u00a0carbon, but it is the other carcinogens that are mixed\u00a0in with the\u00a0carbon dioxide\u00a0that we inhale in cigarette smoke that actually causes lung cancer.\u00a0Mr. Lemonick\u2019s analogy is\u00a0ridiculous.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Mr. Lemonick\u2019s\u00a0book is an artfully constructed, but rather thinly disguised attempt to mislead the public. It is a web\u00a0that\u00a0is\u00a0spun by a died in the wool\u00a0Socialist whose\u00a0purpose is not to educate or inform anyone about the risks of climate change It is to confound and confuse the\u00a0public\u00a0into accepting some kind of\u00a0a world wide carbon trading scheme.. The only thing man made about global warming\u00a0or climate change\u00a0are all\u00a0of the ridiculous attempts to explain it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n We know for a fact that many of today’s climate monitoring stations\u00a0were once recording data from\u00a0the middle of a\u00a0green hayfield, but\u00a0they\u00a0are now\u00a0collecting their data from the middle of an asphalt\u00a0parking lot. We know that temperature recordings on Mars show a marked increase\u00a0over the last ten or twenty years which mirrors the so called “human effect”<\/em> we are experiencing here on earth.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Mr. Lemonick is not a\u00a0neutral arbiter of the truth. He is not an\u00a0authority on the subject of climate change\u00a0and his editor\u2019s pen is no instrument of impartiality.
