John Kitzhaber’s Personal and Political Demise.<\/strong><\/h1>\n

From Boots and Spurs in the Governor\u2019s Mansion <\/strong><\/h1>\n

to Whips and Chains and Dildos!<\/strong><\/h1>\n

It’s another one of those “historic” moments for Oregon. At least that’s what Oregon Public Broadcasting\u00a0intimated last week when they reported that four time Governor John Kitzhaber\u00a0abruptly resigned\u00a0from office\u00a0and Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown became America’s first\u00a0LGBT Governor.. It was one month into\u00a0an unprecedented fourth term for Governor Kitzhaber, the emergency room physician from Roseburg who was born in Washington and grew up in Eugene. He resigned under a cloud of suspicions and pressure from his peers while an ongoing criminal investigation into allegations of influence peddling by the former Governor and his fianc\u00e9 continues to run its course. Oregon\u2019s iconic four term Governor will be replaced by our\u00a0Secretary of State, Kate Brown who will become America\u2019s first\u00a0openly bisexual Governor. My\u00a0only concern is that\u00a0the signs\u00a0on the bathrooms\u00a0at the Capitol\u00a0will\u00a0have to be changed\u00a0from day to day in order to\u00a0accomodate the new Governor.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kitzhaber\u2019s resignation came as a complete surprise to most political observers in Salem. Just a day earlier he\u00a0told\u00a0reporters\u00a0that he had no intention\u00a0of resigning while the criminal and ethics investigations were\u00a0underway. So what happened to make Oregon\u2019s unpredictable Democrat Governor change his mind? We may never know the whole truth but the most likely scenario is that a cabal of his own Democratic peers conspired to throw him under the bus for the sake of maintaining their Party\u2019s\u00a0control over\u00a0the Governor’s\u00a0office in 2016.\u00a0Oregon hasn’t had a Republican Governor in almost thirty years,\u00a0since Vic Atiyeh left office in 1987 yet the Democrats are still worried\u00a0about losing\u00a0their grip on power.\u00a0\u00a0They want to push any news about Governor Kitzhaber’s\u00a0personal and political problems off of the front page\u00a0as the 2016 election cycle\u00a0rolls around.\u00a0Any news\u00a0of a criminal investigation\u00a0concerning\u00a0the\u00a0Governor’s conduct\u00a0is a big story and it\u00a0winds up on the front page, but news about a former Governor is not nearly so compelling\u00a0nor distracting from the Democrats agenda to win\u00a0re-election in 2016… Nevertheless the Oregon Republican Party didn\u2019t\u00a0have anything to do with\u00a0John Kitzhaber\u2019s personal and political downfall. It was all a Democrat family affair.<\/p>\n

Governor Kitzhaber spent more than twelve years in office as Oregon\u2019s chief executive.\u00a0 That is a long time to get used to the idea that you are the most important person in\u00a0the entire\u00a0State. When you are at the top of the political heap for\u00a0so\u00a0long it\u00a0gets in your blood and it is easy to forget that there are\u00a0other players in the game just waiting for their chance in the limelight. You can get a little carried away with yourself and a little careless. Politics is a team\u00a0effort just like football or basketball. The Democrats are a political team and no single individual is more important than the success of the whole team.<\/p>\n

\"Kitzhaber-John-and-fiance-Cylvia-Hayes\"<\/a>And speaking of being single… if you add to this the\u00a0fact\u00a0that the divorced\u00a0Governor\u00a0recently fell in love with a\u00a0beautiful,\u00a0much younger woman\u00a0then you have all the\u00a0makings\u00a0for Mr. Kitzhaber\u2019s personal and political demise.\u00a0No matter\u00a0 how old you are when you fall in love\u00a0the\u00a0exhilarating experience can make you feel\u00a0like you are\u00a0walking on thin air. It is very easy to forget that there is nothing under your feet.\u00a0Being in love can knock you off your game plan. So after twelve years in power and blinded by Cupid\u2019s arrows\u00a0you might begin to feel like you are\u00a0indispensable to\u00a0others\u00a0around you.<\/p>\n

I believe that Governor Kitzhaber\u00a0got\u00a0too comfortable\u00a0being in power for so long.. Then he fell in love and\u00a0it\u00a0knocked him off his stride just long enough for him to\u00a0get careless. He began to think that he was the exception to the rule instead of someone who had to follow the rules just like\u00a0anyone else.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Governor Kitzhaber fashioned himself to be a cowboy of sorts and he frequently came to Salem sporting designer jeans and cowboy boots. That was just fine and dandy until he started\u00a0to act\u00a0like a cowboy too. That’s when\u00a0it became a problem. Now the Governor\u2019s mansion which\u00a0has hosted real\u00a0wild west cowboys as well as\u00a0a self-styled, designer cowboy\u00a0from Roseburg who used to be an emergency room physician will\u00a0now be the home\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0peculiar,\u00a0alternative life style\u00a0of America\u2019s first\u00a0bisexual Governor… \u00a0or was that Janet Napolitano?\u00a0\u00a0 Oh well. Regardless of who it was, this is\u00a0just another historic moment for\u00a0a State that leads the nation in perversity as well as in diversity. \u00a0The University of Oregon Ducks\u00a0may not have won\u00a0the national collegiate championship this year but at least Oregon leads the nation in something. And here are just a few more\u00a0ways that Oregon leads the Nation…<\/p>\n

Our State’s\u00a0hard working Mennonite farmers grow some of the best grass in the world right here in the Willamette Valley. They grow it for seed. Every year\u00a0they\u00a0winnow the grass and\u00a0harvest the seed from their fields.\u00a0Then they remove as much of the weed\u00a0as\u00a0possible and\u00a0they sell their\u00a0prized grass seed mixtures all over the world. Meanwhile Oregon’s\u00a0dopey liberals in Portland, Eugene, and Corvallis\u00a0gather all\u00a0of the weed they can get from\u00a0different fields\u00a0and\u00a0they smoke\u00a0some of the best grass\u00a0that\u00a0Oregon law allows.\u00a0\u00a0In the past\u00a0they\u00a0did it\u00a0secretly but\u00a0it’s\u00a0all out in the open now. It’s all\u00a0perfectly\u00a0legal.<\/p>\n

Under our\u00a0State’s Democrat Governors and\u00a0Legislatures\u00a0Oregon was\u00a0one of the first States to legalize\u00a0medical marijuana. Now we are one of the first States to legalize the use of recreational marijuana. We\u00a0legalized gambling at\u00a0Indian tribal casinos and we have a State Lottery that licenses slot machines for use inside of family restaurants. We\u00a0elected a\u00a0Democrat Governor who was accused of statutory rape.\u00a0As the mayor of Portland Neil Goldschmidt had\u00a0sex with a\u00a0thirteen year old\u00a0girl.\u00a0Later\u00a0Jimmy\u00a0Carter\u00a0nominated him to be U.S. Secretary of Transportation. Now\u00a0Oregon has elected a Democrat Governor who is under investigation for\u00a0 influence peddling. I wonder what the future holds in store for him under the Obama Administration or perhaps under a future Hillary Clinton Administration. Now Oregon boasts America\u2019s first openly\u00a0bisexual Governor. Wow, what a record of perversity.<\/p>\n

The Bible says that in the latter days women and children would lead\u00a0people\u00a0which have rejected the word of God. Who would have imagined that the woman who would\u00a0lead\u00a0the people\u00a0of Oregon would be such a degenerate? But then she is a Democrat after all and her personal morals\u00a0really aren’t much worse than\u00a0the last\u00a0Governor’s are they?<\/p>\n
