A Time for Every Purpose<\/h1>\n

“There is a time for every purpose under Heaven.” –<\/em> Ecclesiastes \u00a0The\u00a0great difficulty\u00a0comes from not being able\u00a0to tell what time it is.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In life there are always winners and losers.\u00a0 In love and war just\u00a0as in peace and politics there are always those who\u00a0emerge\u00a0victorious and\u00a0take\u00a0the prize and others who don\u2019t. There are winners and losers in every human endeavor whether it is for the prize of a young girl\u2019s\u00a0affections in a friendly contest\u00a0over\u00a0matters of the heart or it is the for a prized\u00a0seat in Congress in a hard fought\u00a0political campaign. Whether it is for control of a small territory like Gaza or\u00a0control of\u00a0an entire country like Iraq\u00a0or Syria, or for that matter Egypt, Libya,\u00a0and Ukraine there are always\u00a0winners and\u00a0losers in life… but not to a liberal.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0a liberal’s mind\u00a0there\u00a0shouldn’t be\u00a0any\u00a0winners or losers in life.\u00a0 They believe that all conflicts should be resolved between opposing parties using internationally accepted\u00a0standards of diplomacy without either side emerging as a clear winner or loser in\u00a0their struggle. At least that is what they are always trying to accomplish in the Middle East between\u00a0the Palestinians and\u00a0the Israelis.<\/p>\n

There is a time for every purpose under Heaven. I think it would be much better to just let them\u00a0keep fighting until one side is ready to give up. Let them keep fighting until one side clearly emerges as victorious and the other side finally sues for peace.\u00a0Let’s not be in such a big hurry this time to force the Palestinians and\u00a0the Israelis\u00a0to make another premature peace. Let them\u00a0 fight it out this time until one side finally\u00a0wins and the other side finally loses and\u00a0they are ready to make peace. The word vanquished quickly comes to my mind. It is the only way to really end this ongoing conflict in the Middle East between\u00a0the Jews\u00a0of Israel and\u00a0the Arabs\u00a0in the West Bank and\u00a0Gaza Strip. In fact it is\u00a0the only way to end the\u00a0controversy that has erupted over the return of\u00a0the Jews to their rightful homeland. One side\u00a0finally has to be allowed to\u00a0win\u00a0this war and the other side finally has to be allowed to\u00a0lose\u00a0and accept the terms of their surrender. This has to happen as painful as it may seem to some.\u00a0The losers\u00a0have to surrender.\u00a0 There must be no more of these\u00a0temporary cease fires that interrupt the conflict and allow the losing side to re-arm. They have to\u00a0unconditionally give up their armed struggle against Israel once and for all. In order for that to happen\u00a0Arabs must\u00a0lose all hope of ever prevailing\u00a0in their\u00a0attempts to\u00a0kill all the Jews of \u00a0Israel\u00a0or send them\u00a0back to Europe.\u00a0Palestinians need to\u00a0raise the white flag of surrender and agree to lay down their arms once and for all.\u00a0They have to\u00a0stop launching rockets into Israel and stop building underground tunnels\u00a0across the border. They have to accept the terms of their surrender which will and\u00a0rightfully should be dictated to them by Israel.<\/p>\n

This is the way that wars have always been ended in the real world. \u00a0It is the way that World War 1 and World War 2 were ended. It is the\u00a0way that all of the earth\u2019s major conflicts have\u00a0been\u00a0resolved. What planet do these liberals think they are living on? Planet Utopia doesn\u2019t exist.<\/p>\n

In order for there to be an actual end to the hostilities one side has to prevail in their armed struggle and the other side has to perceive that it is in their own best interest to give up.\u00a0 That means that they have to lose all hope of ever prevailing against their enemy. It really isn\u2019t\u00a0any harder to understand than that. A temporary truce between\u00a0two opposing sides that are still committed to winning the war doesn\u2019t\u00a0accomplish anything, but apparently our American Secretary of State doesn\u2019t understand that and neither does\u00a0the President\u00a0he works for.\u00a0That is why\u00a0John Kerry\u00a0is running all over the Middle East\u00a0now trying to make peace between Hamas<\/a> and Israel when they are obviously not ready to make peace. There is a time for every purpose under Heaven. There is a time for peace and there is a time to make war. The great difficulty\u00a0comes from not\u00a0knowing what time\u00a0it is.<\/p>\n

Everybody should\u00a0just stop\u00a0trying to force the Israelis and the Palestinians to make another premature peace.\u00a0 Let the Israelis and the Palestinians keep fighting until one side or the other is ready to\u00a0surrender. Then\u00a0it will be the right time to make peace. Until then it is just a waste of time\u00a0to run around the Middle East trying to extend\u00a0an olive branch…\u00a0<\/p>\n

While I am on this subject of war and peace\u00a0why don’t we\u00a0also stop trying to make peace between the Sunnis and the Shiites. They are not ready to make\u00a0peace. Let them continue to\u00a0slaughter each other in the name of Allah until they are ready to bury their hatchets. There is a time for every purpose under Heaven. The great difficulty is in knowing what time it is.<\/p>\n
