You don’t have to be an economist to figure it out. Taxes are not the prime factor in causing economic growth, and they are not the main reason for an economic downturn either. So says a new report compiled by David Leonhardt, the Washington Bureau chief for the New York Times. However he doesn’t admit it. He was recently interviewed by Robin Young for National Public Radio on their morning program “Here and Now” which is aired on 170 radio stations across the country. The program was produced by WBUR, Boston’s public radio affiliate.

What taxes are is the main cause and the major explanation for the growth of Big Government. And Big Government is the single greatest threat to our freedom and our way of life in America today! New and higher taxes are the greatest danger that we face in our effort to survive as a free people and a sovereign nation.

I am not for or against higher taxes because of what they will do to help or hurt the economy. I am opposed to new or higher taxes because of an entirely different reason. I am against raising taxes because they will only take more money out of the private “free market” sector, which is the actual wealth producing part of our Nation’s economy and transfer that money or “redistribute” it to the government and to the public sector, which doesn’t produce anything but more regulations and red tape! This will only increase the size and the power of our federal government overlords! And this approach is antithetical to a free society!

It is idiotic and completely detrimental to our continued well-being to give up our freedom to an ever expanding Federal leviathan like government in the hope of attaining higher levels of economic prosperity here at home. It won’t happen! It will only bleed us dry, and make us progressively poorer even as it makes our Federal government overlords progressively more powerful. It will make us poorer both in the economic department and in the liberty department as well. It was F.D.R. who said, “If you give up freedom for a little security then you don’t deserve either, and you will probably lose both.”

This is the link to a new, better, safer, and more friendly social network… If you liked this article then come join us for a better way to debate the most important issues of our time… and start building up sweat equity in your own news and social network at the same time.

http://wepluribus.net/index.php?do=/

Select Related Articles

http://www.lessgovisthebestgov.com/economy-that-sustains-us.html

External Links to Outside Sources

http://hereandnow.wbur.org/2012/09/20/taxes-economic-growth

All you have to do is listen closely to their words to see what they are saying, and what they are not saying.
