The Golden Calf<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Throughout history there have always been people who worship idols, the work of their own hands.\u00a0 All of the great civilizations before us: the Egyptians, the Babylonians, the Persians, the Greeks, and the Romans\u00a0all worshipped idols. The people who lived in the\u00a0Holy Land before the Jews\u00a0arrived worshipped idols. They erected images to Baal, Molech, and Dagan. There were\u00a0even Jews who worshiped idols, like the\u00a0ones who worshiped the Golden Calf mentioned in the Book of Exodus\u2026 It says that while Moses was\u00a0on Mt. Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments the\u00a0people\u00a0murmured against Aaron and against God. They told Aaron to make them an idol to\u00a0proceed them through the wilderness. As a result of their unbelief they would wander through the wilderness\u00a0forty years until every last member of that faithless generation\u00a0died except for Joshua and Caleb\u2026 Only then were they fit for God’s purpose and ready to enter the Promised Land.\u00a0So it is nothing new that people still worship idols today.<\/p>\n

Whether it is a golden calf or some other\u00a0invention of mankind\u00a0that denies the existence of God and His plan of salvation, the three\u00a0modern branches of rabbinical Judaism\u00a0which all arose after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70AD are all forms of idolatry. They all deny the\u00a0essential truth that the Messiah has already come. They all ignore the obvious fact that God provided a new way forward before He allowed all of the old ways to be completely destroyed with the\u00a0final destruction of the Jewish Temple.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know how it is possible for any serious minded seeker of the truth, Jew and non Jew alike, to miss this very important fact. Who else besides Jesus could possibly be the light to the Gentiles mentioned in\u00a0the Book of Isaiah chapter 42 verse 6\u00a0? In who else\u00a0are all the nations of the earth blessed ?\u00a0 That was the\u00a0promise that God made to Abraham\u00a0in\u00a0Genesis\u00a0chapter 22 verse 18. What kind of God would have allowed the Jewish Temple\u00a0and\u00a0its entire Old Testament system of blood sacrifices to\u00a0make atonement\u00a0for sin to be completely and utterly eradicated without first providing a\u00a0way forward in His Son Jesus ?<\/p>\n

Rabbinical Judaism cannot rescue a single person from sin nor render its followers acceptable in God\u2019s sight because of\u00a0one simple basic truth\u2026. There is no atonement for sin without the shedding of blood. There never has been and there never will be. (Leviticus 17:11) Only faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross, and only faith in His perfect faith can\u00a0make atonement\u00a0for sin. \u00a0Yom Kippur is a lie. There is no day of atonement. Jesus is our atonement. Every\u00a0religious doctrine which denies that fact is religious heresy\u00a0just like the golden calf in the desert. It is a form of idolatry, just another invention of mankind that\u00a0either ignores or denies the work of God. No good deed you will ever do can ever replace what Jesus has\u00a0already done for you on the Cross\u00a0over two thousand years ago and no amount of human invention or ingenuity can ever explain it away.<\/p>\n

Why\u00a0does the Bible say that all of our good deeds are like filthy rags?\u00a0Simply because every good\u00a0deed you will ever do, if it is meant to\u00a0earn God’s\u00a0favor \u2026\u00a0 rejects\u00a0what Jesus has already done\u00a0for you on the Cross.\u00a0Furthermore it denies the fact that there is no atonement without the shedding of blood, and it fails to acknowledge that everything we give to God must be perfect\u00a0without any fault. Can you ever do anything that is\u00a0100% perfect, without fault? Of course not, and that is precisely why you can never earn your own salvation or save anyone else by the work of your own hands.\u00a0It is why we can never satisfy our highest aspiration of being accepted by God without\u00a0accepting what Jesus has already done for\u00a0us on the Cross over two thousand years ago.<\/p>\n

Any form of religious heresy or work of mankind which denies the existence of God\u00a0or God\u2019s plan for your life\u00a0is an idol.<\/p>\n
