Wrestling against the Political Powers of this World<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n \u2026 and the Blind Leaders of the Blind<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n By Scott Rohter, May 2013<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The task is daunting if we consider what we are really fighting against…\u00a0 spiritual wickedness in high places. Bookmakers in Las Vegas wouldn\u2019t be holding out\u00a0much hope for our success. In fact they would be giving\u00a0pretty good odds for anyone who was willing to bet\u00a0on us. In their wildest dreams our political opponents don’t think for a minute that we can actually beat them. So to describe our situation as\u00a0dire would\u00a0be an understatement. To\u00a0admit the odds are\u00a0not in our favor is just realistic when you consider all of the world\u2019s resources that can be used against us.\u00a0When\u00a0considering those resources, and the consequences of our continued resistance,\u00a0we might begin to wonder why we even bother to hold on, much less fight. “Resistance is futile so come out with your hands up in the air.”<\/em> That is the refrain that some conservatives in our midst\u00a0expect to hear almost any day now!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Let me try to explain to all of the skeptics why we\u00a0continue to fight. The Bible tells us\u00a0that we toil not<\/span> for earthly rewards\u2026 and that faith without works is dead.<\/i> So if we are truly doing what we are supposed to do then we are laboring\u00a0only to hear those six most\u00a0beautiful words in the English language… They are,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201cWell done good and faithful servant.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0And if we understand\u00a0that even the greatest earthly minds don\u2019t know the beginning from the end, or even how the beginning\u00a0ever happened, then perhaps the future doesn\u2019t really look\u00a0that bleak\u00a0for us after all. The Bible\u00a0proclaims that, \u201cTo him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not\u2026 to him it is sin.\u201d<\/i> \u2013James 4.17. We also have a\u00a0very powerful friend in\u00a0high places.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The Bible says if we resist evil, then it will flee from us. So if we are supposed to resist evil and we do that, then\u00a0our\u00a0victory is\u00a0guaranteed… We cannot lose.\u00a0 In the meantime we should not give in, and we must not lose hope. If we\u00a0do what we are told, then the fruit of our\u00a0obediance is our ultimate triumph over evil.
