The Breakdown of Family <\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n and <\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n The True Nature of Society<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n by Scott Rohter, March 2013<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cGood morals are superior to knowledge, skill, and talent combined.\u201d – <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i>Andrew Jackson<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n An honor roll is a list of individuals who have distinguished themselves above their peers. In the United States\u00a0honor is a very hard thing to find today. It is a rare commodity to possess. It is more precious than gold or diamonds and more valuable than\u00a0all other\u00a0human traits combined. George Washington\u00a0had it right when he said over two hundred years ago that, \u201cthe greatest title of all is\u00a0to be called an honest man.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0 But\u00a0in America today our culture has descended so\u00a0low that almost all honor is lacking from\u00a0our lifes. It is hard for me to imagine a more depraved society than the one in which\u00a0I live where every sick, twisted,\u00a0and perverted thing is considered normal and a man who\u00a0tries to\u00a0surgically turn himself into a woman\u00a0 makes for prime time entertainment.\u00a0 We\u00a0really aren’t much different than the ancient Biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah whose moral crimes\u00a0have\u00a0become\u00a0legendary.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In many ways what goes on in\u00a0the United States today is even worse than what drew Gods’ attention thousands of years ago in\u00a0Sodom or Gomorrah. When men were honorable and women were chaste there\u00a0was an old\u00a0saying\u00a0which\u00a0people used whenever\u00a0someone decided to trust someone\u00a0else.\u00a0They\u00a0said, \u201cYou are on your honor\u201d.<\/em>\u00a0Back then honor\u00a0really meant something so if you were placed on your honor\u00a0most people would never have\u00a0thought of\u00a0letting someone\u00a0else down. Being put on your honor carried a considerable amount of importance, but today no one ever says, “You are on your honor”.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n No one\u00a0thinks to put someone else on their honor\u00a0because no one has any honor today. We\u00a0know deep inside that it’s\u00a0a\u00a0waste of time to\u00a0try to invoke honor in today’s world because in contemporary culture honor doesn\u2019t exist. Nobody enters into\u00a0a personal or business relationship\u00a0without\u00a0a signed contract and a legal ream of paperwork to protect all of the\u00a0participants from\u00a0the vagaries that occur when\u00a0people decide not to keep their word.<\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It is\u00a0legal for\u00a0politicians running for office to lie to\u00a0voters in order to get elected. We all know that they lie to us. There is no trust\u00a0between citizens and their\u00a0elected representatives in Congress. The popularity of the Senate and the House of Representatives has fallen into the single digits. It’s actually\u00a0fallen into the toilet.\u00a0When trust doesn’t exist anymore then for all practical purposes our\u00a0society will have reached the end of its rope.\u00a0The rope\u00a0is already in the process of fraying at the\u00a0ends\u00a0as\u00a0each man or woman\u00a0takes whatever they can from\u00a0another and gives back little or nothing in return. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Our culture has fallen on some\u00a0morally hard times which\u00a0is why Congress and our State Legislatures keep producing\u00a0more and more\u00a0regulations every year\u2026 an\u00a0endless\u00a0supply of new laws because no one\u00a0in our\u00a0country\u00a0can even follow ten\u00a0of the most basic laws. If they cant\u00a0follow\u00a0the Ten Commandments then what makes our\u00a0elected officials think they will follow ten million laws? \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The American people expect to be lied to every day by the mainstream media and by our politicians in Washington. In return we lie to each other.\u00a0Since no one trusts anyone to keep their word anymore\u00a0attorneys are very busy drafting lengthy contracts including prenuptial agreements for people who are about to be married and who are supposed to love each other till death do them part. When every last vestige of trust is eviscerated from our\u00a0cultural anatomy what will be left of our civil society will not\u00a0be worth saving…<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhat is truth? Almost thou persuadeth me.\u201d<\/em> Those <\/i>were the famous words of King Herod spoken to the Apostle Paul over two thousand years ago. Today our taxpayer funded public school system is handing out free condoms like they are candy. They are providing other forms of contraception and birth control to under aged students. They are also providing student counseling services to pregnant teenage girls while denying\u00a0parents\u00a0access to their children\u2019s records so they can help them. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n This is how far we have fallen from\u00a0our cultural honor roll. The State is\u00a0trying to\u00a0steal our children.\u00a0 Democrats believe that it takes a village to raise a child, but the village is actually taking over the job of raising our children.\u00a0Our laws seem more concerned with\u00a0dotting every I and crossing every T\u00a0than\u00a0they are\u00a0with helping young troubled children, or providing their\u00a0parents with the critical information they need\u00a0to be able to help them. <\/span><\/span><\/span>So when a troubled teenager begins to act out his most disturbing fantasies, or attempts to perform some\u00a0violent act of rage like\u00a0the random shootings that\u00a0occurred at a movie theatre in Aurora Colorado, or at a shopping mall in Phoenix\u00a0Arizona, or more recently at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, those same elite politicians who keep denying\u00a0their parents their\u00a0rights as parents are now\u00a0demanding their handguns.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n When a pregnant teenage girl wants to terminate the life of her unborn baby without her parents ever knowing about it,\u00a0politicians are calling for her pro-life parents to be kept in the dark as to her daughters personal decisions. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Instead of trying to stop gun violence in America by\u00a0placing further restrictions on our right to bear arms<\/span> we should\u00a0actually be\u00a0combating the decline of family values in our country by providing more help and information to churches and faith based initiatives.\u00a0 Instead of\u00a0 more regulations on handguns we should consider banning Hollywood movies\u00a0that corrupt\u00a0the soul of our nation like Batman –\u00a0Dark Knight\u00a0which glorify\u00a0senseless acts of violence and prompted\u00a0a young teenager to act out his pent-up rage in a movie theatre upon unsuspecting strangers.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n We should ban violent video games like Grand Theft Auto which exacerbate a disturbing trend in our country to disrespect others. We should\u00a0prosecute parents who are too busy to properly raise their own children to respect the law. We should\u00a0discourage divorce because it always leads to broken homes and single parent families which we know is a contributing factor in childhood mental illness. We should\u00a0really get tough with illegal drug use because of all the crime and\u00a0heartache\u00a0it invariably causes. We should\u00a0consider banning prescription anti-depressant drugs like Zoloft, Prosaic, and Paxil\u00a0because they are\u00a0being handed out like\u00a0candy in order to bolster the sagging corporate profits\u00a0of\u00a0big pharmaceutical companies.\u00a0 Finally we should\u00a0revoke the medical licenses of doctors who over prescribe those drugs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n We should\u00a0ban hate, ignorance, and prejudice. We should ban Washington politicians from adding to\u00a0the Nation’s\u00a0troubles by increasing\u00a0our National Debt and\u00a0our annual Federal Deficits. We should prohibit big pharmaceutical companies from producing so many drugs that\u00a0quickly find their way into our municipal drinking water supplies\u00a0whenever somebody urinates into the toilet bowl. Then we have the presence of another new drug that can\u2019t be easily detected or removed from the\u00a0Nation’s drinking water supply. Even otherwise healthy urban residents are being medicated\u00a0every time\u00a0they turn on the tap whether they need it or not. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n One of the reasons that is frequently\u00a0given\u00a0for the decline and fall of the Roman Empire was the continuing use of lead in pipes that delivered water to the residents of Rome. I wonder if\u00a0some of our double minded politicians in Washington have ever looked into why\u00a0there are so many double headed frogs living in the pond down the road or why there is such an alarming increase of cancer in America, Alzheimer\u2019s disease, auto-immune disorders, Down\u2019s Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorders, depression, suicide, and even\u00a0murder.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Then there is the FDA\u2019s growing approval\u00a0for\u00a0the use of Genetically Modified Food Organisms which is not especially to increase the productivity of\u00a0any farm, but rather to increase the profitability of the chemical companies that made them. When I stand in the check-out line at the grocery store and I see all of the magazines with photos of one woman after another baring their half-naked bodies, this famous quote by Benjamin Harrison comes to mind. \u201cThe manner in which a particular society treats its women is a very good indicator of the true nature of society.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n If you enjoyed reading this article\u00a0please consider joining our new social network.
